ANGER AS ART: New Album Written, Ready To Be Demoed

November 20, 2007

ANGER AS ART, the Los Angeles-based thrash metal band featuring Steve Gaines (ABATTOIR, BLOODLUST, PAGAN WAR MACHINE, DREAMS OF DAMNATION),has issued the following update:

"So we just got back into L.A. from Seattle. What a fucking great weekend. I

"In all honesty we were a little concerned about the fact that we were the only thrash/speed metal band on the bill at the Northwest Death Fest. But the timing was perfect. We had a slot that happened just as the people in the house were a little bludgeoned with death metak, and were ready for a shift. That is what they got. Bam!

"A lot of you know that it was our first show with new drummer Dave Chedrick. Dave is a student of the metronome, and when he counted us in on song 1, we all knew that it was gonna be a drag race. Dave was awesome — in fact, he fit so well that the thought that he was new never occurred. The only problem happened on my end. My [Gaines'] amplifier crapped out with three songs to go. And of course, those three songs depended on my rhythm track to get us through... a lot of air guitar in between crackles of Marshall... but a great show nonetheless.

"A couple of words about Seattle: the fans of music really listen to what you do, and appreciate it. By the end of our set, the crowd was shouting the words to 'All that is Mine to Avenge' like they new it for years.

"Again, we were the 'odd band out' at this show, and we were accepted with open arms. Also, to Howitzer Productions staff — specifically Frank Hetzel — you guys have no idea what it means to have a promoter like Frank in your town. I have worked with and been brothers with Frank for four years now, and much love and kudos to him from the entire AAA family. Bro, we will see you soon.

"We are closing out 2007 with a show at Paladino's in Tarzana CA. It will be our third annual Festivus show — on December 23. I do not know who else is playing, but we are working on some promotional BS so that you can do your last minute Christmas shopping with our merch!!! Bands should contact Wicked Edge Promotions if interested in playing. This will be the first show in front of the homecrowd with Dave drumming, and we will be bringing out everything — full stacks, drum riser, chain cymbal stands... shooting photos and maybe video. Come out and join us in the airing of greivances, feats of strength... and donations to 'the human fund!'

"2008 is shaping up to be a huge year for us. We should be making some incredible leaps, (see our show listings) as well as working on our third album for OSM Records. It is all written, we just need to demo the songs for each other, learn them, track them... do artwork, develop a campaign, master, press, do press, tour, tour, tour.... And yes, we are in the process of rebuilding our traditional website. Courtesy of Adam Phillips. A long time coming, I know, but will be worth the wait."
